What can a poor person do with gold bullion

He finally reached his house. He went up to the doorstep, took the key out of his pocket and opened the door. He had left the house in an absolute order. He had expected that his aunt would want to visit him. But she had kept the conversation short. His small house, which was more like an ordinary wooden cabin, consisted of one room only. There was some simple furniture inside, a little rug on the wooden floor, a sink, something that served as a shower. But the interior did not look impressive, he was perfectly aware of that. Since he had always had problems affording anything else, he had to stay here. Now, everything could change. He took the gold bullion bars out of his cotton bag and put them on the table. There were ten of them. How much money they were worth, he did not know. He had never really been interested in such things. They were not a normal part of his simple, solitary life. Now, the gold was lying in front of him. He had not expected he would ever inherit something like this. And he did not have any ideas of what to do with it. Perhaps try to sell it and buy a proper house? Why not learn to drive and buy a car? Open a business? The gold bullion was just a thing, but it opened so many ways in front of him. Did he want that? He had no idea, at least not at this point. He packed his bars in a box and hid them under the bed.
